Working with our Community

Holy Trinity church aims to support the local community as far as resources will permit. As we are a small congregation, resources can limit what we are able to support.

School Governors: Since all of our village primary schools are Church of England schools, each parish church nominates one or more of the school governors. These church based "foundation" governors work alongside the Rector, sharing with other governors in the management of the school and in particular helping to support the school's Christian ethos.

School support activities: Children from the village school visit their local church regularly for worship and learning, while clergy and lay people visit the school for collective worship, in a governor role, or supporting learning. We now have well established teams of Bible Story Tellers who visit Stanley Common and Mapperley schools weekly to read to the children.
