Working with our Community

St Andrew’s church has a small congregation and, because of limited resources, we generally combine with United Church of All Saints in our support to the local community.

School Governors: Since all of our village primary schools are Church of England schools, each parish church nominates one or more of the school governors. These church based "foundation" governors work alongside the Rector, sharing with other governors in the management of the school and in particular helping to support the school's Christian ethos.

Christmas Tree Festival Trail Stanley and Stanley Common churches join together to provide an annual Christmas Tree Trail. Both churches are involved in the organisation of the festival, which takes place over several days in mid-December. School support activities: Members of St Andrew’s Church visit the local Church of England school to read bible stories and for collective acts of worship.
